FAIRMONT, W.Va. – Glenville State Women's Cross Country has been voted to finish 4
th in the Mountain East Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, the league announced today.
The Pioneers, who had their highest finish since 1993 in a conference meet last season (4
th), were picked behind reigning MEC Champion, Davis & Elkins (104 points, seven first-place votes), the University of Charleston (101 votes, four first-place votes) and Point Park (92 points). Glenville State tallied 82 points from the league's head coaches, and were predicted to finish ahead of Frostburg State (64 points), West Virginia Wesleyan (62 points), Shawnee State (57 points), West Liberty (53 points), Concord (48 points), Fairmont State (32 points) and Wheeling (20 points).

Dan Meyers returns the Atlantic Region Runner of the Year and NCAA National Qualifier,
Natalie Barr, as well as All-Region honoree
Jenna Barnett and
Katie Hicks, who finished in the top 25 of the MEC Championship meet in 2025.
Abby Dixon returns also after finishing in the top 100 at the Atlantic Region Championship and moving up to fourth all-time in GSU history in the 6K.
