GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State athletes Irmak Bezek and Jacob Clark have been named the first GoMart Pioneers of the Week of the 2026-27 school year, the GSU Athletic Department announced.
 
Bezek, a senior out of Istanbul, Turkey, accounted for 78 assists in the first four games of the Pioneer volleyball season. Bezek had her best match of the weekend in GSU's 3-1 win over Bluefield State on Friday (Aug. 28), when she totaled 31 assists and five digs. Bezek added 23 assists in the Pioneers second matchup with the Big Blue and had 17 assists versus Clinton on Saturday (Aug. 29).
 
Clark, a transfer linebacker from South Dakota who began his career with the Pioneers, produced a team-leading eight tackles and one sack in Glenville State football's 42-7 defeat at Division 1 Elon on Thursday (Aug. 27). Five of his eight stops were solo tackles also.
