GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State athletes Solares Solano and Daiki Aiura have been named GoMart Pioneers of the Week, the GSU Athletic Department announced.
 
Solano, a sophomore out of San Diego, Calif., was instrumental in Glenville State Soccer's first-ever win over the University of Charleston on Wednesday (Sept. 9) night at Ike & Sue Morris Stadium. The Pioneers blanked UC, 2-0, as Solano netted a goal and assisted on another in the second half.
 
Aiura, who was an All-MEC First Team selection a year ago, started off the new year in style. The sophomore out of Tokyo, Japan, shot (-7) over three rounds at the UC Fall Invitational, taking first place in the tournament by six shots. He had a pair of 66's (-4) in rounds two and three to cap off his strong opening weekend.
