Kernersville, N.C. - The Pioneer men and women raced against several conference and regional schools at the NCAA DII Atlantic Region Preview. This was the first time that the Pioneers competed at the Ivey M. Redmon Sports Complex course, but that did not stop them from leaving their mark.

The men opened up the morning with a 6th place finish. Alex Irvin led the men through the finish line first with a time of 27:20. Luke Barr (29th, 27:21) and Jackson Mallet (31st, 27:22) did not fall too far behind Irvin and kept the pack close together. Natalie Barr led the way for the women with a 1st place finish and a time of 22:14. Following Barr was Tammy Liplin, who finished 10th with a time of 23:35, moving her to 4th all-time. A trio of juniors for the Pioneers: Abby Dixon (25th, 24:28), Jenna Barnett (35th, 25:16) and Morgan Ruggles (37th, 25:20) raced close together to give the women an overall 4th place finish. The women were also only 12 points off from #7-ranked Fayetteville State.
