Knowel Smith have been named the Mountain East Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week presented by The Health Plan, the league announced today.
Sherrod, who is from Memphis, Tenn. and transferred in from Southeast Missouri State in the winter, was awarded MEC Offensive Player of the Week after he threw for 277 yards and three touchdowns on 17-of-28 passing in the Glenville State's 24-21 win over Millersville on Thursday (Sept. 3) night inside Ike & Sue Morris Stadium. Sherrod connected with three different receivers for a TD and also had 47 rushing yards in the win.
Smith, a transfer from the Naval Academy, took home MEC Defensive Player of the Week following a 12-tackle performance from his safety position against the Marauders. The Newport News, Va. native also picked off a Millersville pass in the third quarter to help push the Pioneers to their first win of the 2026 season.
