THE OPPONENTS
UNIVERSITY OF CHARLESTON

2026 Season
The University of Charleston sits at a (1-2) record after their first three games this season. The Golden Eagles came up short in the first two, but earned their first victory with a 3-1 win against Concord in their latest matchup.

Quick Look at The Golden Eagles
The Golden Eagles finished the 2025 season as the MEC Runner-Up, falling to Fairmont State in the conference championship match. The appearance marked the program's third consecutive MEC Championship game. Leading scorer Li-Lou Debaecker, along with goalkeeper Ines Degli Esposti, who has recorded 18 saves so far this season, will look to help the Golden Eagles continue their success and secure another postseason berth

WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN
2026 Season
West Virginia Wesleyan looks for their first win this season after starting (0-1-2). After a tie, then a loss, the Bobcats made another tie, 0-0, in their last game against Shawnee State. They travel to face Concord on Wednesday (Sept. 9) before returning home to host the Pioneers on Sunday (Sept. 13).

Quick Look at The Bobcats
While the Bobcats are still searching for their first win, many of their scoring opportunities have tested opposing goalkeepers. Leading scorer Tess Grisez has recorded two goals on nine shots this season, with six of those attempts landing on target. Several other Bobcats have shown similar accuracy and will look to turn those chances into goals as they pursue their first victory of the year.

THE PIONEERS
GLENVILLE STATE
2026 Season
After a two-loss start, the Pioneers improved their record, now (1-2, 1-0 MEC), after beating West Virginia State for the first time in program history on Sunday. Glenville State opened the season with defeats at Waynesburg and Emory & Henry.

Quick Look at The Pioneers
GSU will look to capitalize on the win in their following matchups with contributions from goalkeeper Lucia Lopez, and season leading scorers Solares Solano and Valentina Quiroz, who have both notched a goal in 2026. Lopez logged an important four saves in Glenville State's victory over WVSU.
