James Mullins enters his 13th season as the Head Coach for the Glenville State Baseball program in 2026. Mullins has 238 career wins as the head skipper for GSU.

In Mullins 12th season at the helm, the Pioneers had their third-most wins in a single season, going (27-21, 16-14 MEC). Though the Pioneers just missed the MEC Tournament by a game, six in the blue and white were named All-Conference, with Zac Bayor landing on the All-MEC First Team and five others garnering All-MEC Second Team honors. Bayor also a NCBWA All-Region Second Team honoree. The squad had 48 home runs (2nd all-time) and 80 doubles (2nd all-time) while starting pitchers Cole Grady and Grant Landis both posted ERAs under 3.40.

The 2024 season was another historic season for the Pioneers under Mullins. GSU won 28 games, the second-most in program history, including a (21-9) conference record, which is the best in program history. The Pioneers finished second in the MEC South Division, their highest finish since joining the Mountain East Conference. Under Mullins' tutelage, GSU had five players earn All-MEC honors with Fabian Escalante, Austin Corn and Grant Landis landing on the First Team and Zac Bayor and Julian Minaya garnering Second Team recognition. Escalante was once again honored by the NCBWA, being an All-Region First Team selection.

In 2023, under Coach Mullins, GSU finished with a 22-26 record overall and a (15-15) league record. For the first time in the program’s history, Glenville posted consecutive records of .500 or better in conference play. The Pioneers would have another first-team All-MEC selection in Fabian Escalante. Escalante would also be named to the NCBWA all-region second-team.

The Pioneer Baseball Program had a historic run in 2022 posting a program high of 35 wins. Coach Mullins’s squad started out the season 13-2 defeating multiple PSAC foes. With a strong finish to Mountain East Conference play, GSU made the tournament for the second time in program history.  While the Pioneers lost their first contest of the postseason, they made it to the championship game. A total of four student-athletes would be named to All-MEC Teams with Adam Riggleman earning a first-team selection. Riggleman also would be the program’s first All-American.

During the 2021 campaign, they finished the season 18-19 overall and (14-18) in league play and just missed the MEC Tournament.

In 2020, the Pioneer Baseball team got off to a great start with a 10-6 overall record and a win over No. 2 team in the country at the time, Mercyhurst University, before COVID-19 put a stop to the season.

After posting nine wins in his first season as the head coach at Glenville State, Mullins doubled his win total in year two with 18. The Pioneers played their best down the stretch winning 13 of 20, including a nine-game winning streak, and were in contention for the MEC Tournament until the final day, as he was named the 2015 MEC Baseball Coach of the Year.

In 2016, just their fifth year of having a program since 1982, the Pioneers made the MEC Tournament after going 19-32 (18-14) before falling to Notre Dame College and Shepherd University.

In 2017, GSC just missed the MEC Tournament as they finished with an overall record of 19-30 (13-19). This past season, in 2018, the Pioneers just missed the MEC Tournament as they went 19-27 (16-16). They also had three players earn MEC All-Conference Honors.

In 2019, the Pioneers posted 14 wins with 34 losses and went 9-23 in the MEC South Division.
