Zach Bacon enters his third season as an Assistant Coach for the Glenville State Baseball program in 2027. It marks his fifth year on the staff, spending his first two as a Graduate Assistant. 

Bacon and crew coached the Pioneers to the program's second-ever 30-win season, as Glenville State went (30-23) overall and (16-14) in league play. GSU entered the MEC Tournament as the No. 3 seed in the South, and put together a five-day run to the championship game where the Pioneers fell just short. It was the school's second appearance in the MEC Tournament championship game in program history. Zach Dellerman and Ashton Crace were Second Team All-Region selections as well as All-MEC First Team honorees. Jacob Meadows landed on the All-MEC Second Team and Grant Landis earned his third all-conference honor as an Honorable Mention.

In his first season as a full-time assistant in 2025, the Pioneers had their second-consecutive winning season, going (27-21, 16-14 MEC) and just missing the MEC Tournament by one game. Six were named All-Conference, with Zac Bayor landing on the All-MEC First Team and five others garnering All-MEC Second Team honors. Bayor also a NCBWA All-Region Second Team honoree. 

In 2024, Bacon helped coach the Pioneers to a (28-21) overall record and program-best (21-9) conference finish, securing a spot in the MEC Tournament for the second time in three years with a 2nd place finish in the MEC South Division. In addition, five earned All-Conference honors with Fabian Escalante, Austin Corn and Grant Landis all landing on the All-MEC First Team. Escalante was also named to the NCBWA All-Region First Team.

Bacon's first season on the staff was in 2023, when the Pioneers finished (22-26, 15-15 MEC) and had three earn All-Conference status. Fabian Escalante garnered All-MEC First Team honors while Chase Swain was All-MEC Second Team and Zach Morris earned All-MEC Honorable Mention. 

Bacon graduated from Glenville State University in 2019 with his Bachelor's degree in Athletic Coaching and Conditioning. During his time at Glenville State he was a part of the Baseball team we he got MEC second team all conference in 2017. Bacon went on to pursue his MBA in Project Management at Salem University were he graduated in 2024.

Bacon is from Pinnellas Park, Fla. were he attended Keswick Christian High School. While attending Keswick Christian, Bacon achieved AA Player of the Year.
