Nathaniel Wilkes is in his first season as Head Coach of the Glenville State Women's Soccer program in 2026. Wilkes was announced as the Pioneers leader on June 3, 2026.

"We are very excited to have Coach Nat Wilkes in our Pioneer Family," AD Jesse Skiles said. "He was very instrumental in recruiting and developing players during his time working on the championship staff of Coach Kernell Borneo. He is also very familiar with the Mountain East and the world of Club Soccer. As a native of Central West Virginia, he has an understanding of our area...something we feel will pay dividends as he puts his stamp on this program."

Wilkes returns to Glenville after spending the previous two seasons at nearby Fairmont State as an assistant coach with the women's soccer program. "I am extremely excited to step into my first head coaching role at Glenville State University. First and foremost, I want to thank Athletic Director Jesse Skiles for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to lead this program into a new chapter," said Wilkes. In his two seasons on staff, the Falcons went (29-9-3) and won a conference championship in 2025 on the back of leading the nation in goals scored with 76. Prior to FSU, Wilkes spent the 2023 season as an assistant coach at Glenville State and has also served as an assistant coach at Alderson Broaddus.
"Glenville State has a proud tradition and rich history of athletic success. My goal is to build that same competitive identity within our soccer program by creating a culture centered on hard work, accountability, development, and pride in representing this university," continued Wilkes.

In addition to his collegiate coaching, Wilkes has experience at the amateur level as well. He works with the Mountaineer United Soccer Club, overseeing the coaching staffs for over 600 players and leading the high school program to multiple West Virginia State Cup championships and regional runner-up finishes. Wilkes traveled a team to Barcelona, Spain for international competition, which ended in a Copa de Jordi championship.

The brand-new head coach of the Pioneers finished with – "We have an exciting future ahead, and I look forward to building relationships with our players, alumni, campus community, and supporters as we continue to grow the program. I cannot wait for the fall season to begin and to see what we can accomplish together.

I am proud to be a Pioneer, and I am excited for what lies ahead."
