Tammy Gandee enters her second year as the Head Coach of the Glenville State Lady Pioneer Volleyball team.
In her first season, 2018, Glenville State went 8-18 and 2-14 in MEC play. The eight wins are the most for the Lady Pioneer Volleyball team since the 2013 season when they went 10-23.
Gandee, who is a Gilmer County native, graduated from GSC in 1983 with degrees in Special Education, Elementary Education, and Physical Education.
“Tammy brings several decades of experience as a coach and teacher to GSC. I know she is willing and enthusiastic to help rebuild our volleyball program,” said Glenville State Athletic Director Jesse Skiles.
She has over 35 years of teaching experience in Gilmer County and Lewis County schools. She has also coached various sports over the past 30 years. For the past 10 years she has served as the volleyball coach at Lewis County High School.
“I am very excited and appreciative for the opportunity to work in the community that I grew up in,” stated Gandee.
