Glenville, W.Va. – The GSC Pioneer men's basketball team struggled on the road Saturday afternoon as they fell to the Walsh University Cavaliers, 103-78.
Glenville State (0-3, 0-2) had a strong first half as they went into intermission only trailing Walsh (5-0, 0-0) by five points, 39-34. However in the second half the Cavaliers would outscore the Pioneers 64 to 44 as they defeated GSC.
The Pioneers shot 43 percent from the floor while the Cavaliers finished the game shooting 60 percent. Glenville State shot well from deep as they shot 37 percent while Walsh shot 32 percent.
GSC committed 17 turnovers with Walsh converted them into 22 points. The Cavaliers also got a lift from their bench as they outscored GSC's bench 20 to 15.
Brett Morris scored a team high 22 points and had six rebounds while
Terry Davis Jr. scored 15 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for his first career double-double as a Pioneer.
Freshman guard
Darhius Nunn chipped in with 10 points while
Brooks Ely scored 11 points and had five rebounds off the bench.
Walsh was led by Zac Carter as he scored a game high 27 points.
The Pioneers will return to action on Wednesday, November 30
th as they travel to Concord University for a 7:30 p.m. match-up with the Mountain Lions.
