Glenville, W.Va. – The Glenville State Lady Pioneer volleyball team dropped a home contest to the Cavaliers of UVa-Wise on Saturday at the Waco Center, 3-1.
Glenville State (0-20, 0-11) finished with two more total kills in the match than UVa-Wise (6-19, 2-9) 43 to 41 however the Lady Pioneers had 10 more errors on the day than the Cavaliers 29 to 19.
The Cavaliers took set one by a final of 25-19.
In the second set GSC jumped out to an 8-1 lead however the Cavaliers came back and tied it up at 18-18 before winning the set, 25-22.
Glenville State cruised in the third set as they jumped out to an 11-6 lead and went onto win the set 25-11.
In the fourth set GSC took a 5-1 lead but UVa-Wise then scored the next five points as they took a 6-5 lead and eventually took set four over the Lady Pioneers, 25-22.
Bailey Brawner had a team high 13 kills while also having two blocks in the game.
Allison Parski led the team in assists with 22 while
Haley Wolff had 12 digs in the game.
Ciara Kain had a game high 17 kills for the Cavaliers.
Glenville State (0-20, 0-11) will return to action Friday, November 3
rd as they host the Yellow Jackets of West Virginia State.
