Glenville, W.Va. – Hot start helped the Glenville State Pioneers upset the Cardinals of Wheeling Jesuit on Thursday night at home by eight points.
Glenville State (11-12, 8-11) got off to a great start as they jumped out to a 13 point lead 24-11 midway through the first half. However the Cardinals would put together a run to end the half as GSC took just a five point lead into the break 36-31.
In the second, the Cardinals took their first lead of the game at the 9:33 minute mark 51-50. The game would go back and forth and end up tied at 64-64 with 3:40 to play. Freshman
Darhius Nunn broke the tie for the Pioneers with a jumper. GSC then had several good defensive stands and forced several turnovers in the final stretch while they outscored the Cardinals 15-7 in the final four minutes of the game as the picked up the 79-71 win.
Terry Davis Jr. paced GSC with 19 points while
Jalon Plummer chipped in with 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
Brett Morris had a double-double, his 10
th of the season, scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds while Â
Darhius Nunn finished the game with 14 points.
Wheeling Jesuit (19-6, 13-6) was led by Pat Moseh and Jarin Hilson as each scored 19 points for the Cardinals.

th as they travel to Wet Liberty for a 4:00 p.m. tip-off with the #7 Hilltoppers.Â
