Glenville, W.Va. – The GSC Lady Pioneer softball team dropped a double-header on the road Wednesday at West Virginia Wesleyan.
In the first game, the Bobcats struck first in the first inning as they took a 1-0 lead.
West Virginia Wesleyan then took control of the game and added to their lead in the third as they scored five runs on four hit to take a 6-0 lead.
The Bobcats scored two more runs in the fourth as they took game one in five innings 8-0.
Glenville State only managed one hit in the game and committed three errors.
Ally Brown had GSC's only hit while
Miranda Cropp picked up the loss on the mound as she went 2.1 innings allowing six hits and six runs.
In the game two, GSC took the early lead in the fifth inning as
Hannah Wright homered as the Lady Pioneers held a 1-0 lead.
However the Bobcats came right back in the bottom of the fifth as they scored four runs on five hits as West Virginia Wesleyan went on to win the second game 4-1.
GSC had two hits and four errors while WVWC finished with eight hits.
Mackenzie Smith went 1-for-3 while
Hannah Wright went 1-for-2 with an RBI.
Ally Brown pitched the entire game allowing eight hits, four runs, and struck out two batters.
Glenville State (8-18, 3-7) will return to action this weekend as they travel to take on Urbana University Saturday, April 1
