Glenville, W.Va. – The GSC Lady Pioneer softball team fell on the road Tuesday afternoon to the Fight Scots of Oho Valley.
The Lady Pioneers managed six hits while allowing 10 hits by the Scots in game one as they fell 7-4.
OVU scored four runs in the first inning as they held a 4-0 lead.
The Lady Pioneers would tie it up in the second at 4-4 as
Tori Ward homered, her third of the season, and later
Hayley Olson singled to center scoring
Raven Greer and then
Ally Brown hit a two RBI single scoring
Hayley Olson and
Taylor Gilliland.
However the Fighting Scots retook the lead in the bottom of the second as they went up one, 5-4.
OVU then went on to add a run in the fourth and a run in the sixth as they took game one 7-4.
Ally Brown went 1-for-3 with two RBI's while
Tori Ward went 1-for-2 with a homerun and
Taylor Gilliland went 2-for-3.
Tori Ward pitched 1.2 innings allowing six hits, five runs, and had one strike out.
Game two saw the Lady Pioneers and Fighting Scots knotted at 2-2 however the game was suspended due to weather in the third inning.
Glenville State (11-26, 5-13) will host the Cardinals of Wheeling Jesuit in a double-header on Friday, April 14
th at 1:00 p.m.
