Glenville, W.Va. – The GSC Lady Pioneer softball team season came to an end on Sunday as they dropped a double-header to the Cavaliers of UVa-Wise.
Glenville State managed just one hit and committed four errors as the Lady Pioneers fell 12-0 to the Cavaliers.
UVa-Wise took control of game one in the third as they scored four runs. The Cavaliers then went on to score four runs in the fourth and four runs in the fifth.
Taylor Brumfield had the only hit for GSC as she went 1-for-2 while
Tori Ward allowed four runs on five hits on the mound.
Game two saw the Pioneers take a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first as
Ally Brown scored on an error and then
Hayley Olson reached on an error while
Miranda Cropp crossed the plate.
UVa-Wise got on the scoreboard in the fourth as they scored one run making it 2-1. The Cavaliers took their first lead of the game in the fifth as they scored two runs as they went on to defeat GSC 3-2.
The Lady Pioneers had eight hits and committed one error.
Taylor Brumfield went 2-for-4 for GSC while
Hayley Olson recorded an RBI.
Ally Brown allowed three runs on eight hits on the mound.
Glenville State (13-36, 7-23) 2017 season now comes to an end.Â
