West Liberty, W.Va. – The GSC Lady Pioneer volleyball team went on the road Friday evening and fell to the Hilltoppers of West Liberty, 3-1 (25-12, 20-25, 25-11, and 25-13).
Glenville State (5-9, 1-5 MEC) recorded 30 kills on the evening while West Liberty (17-4, 6-0 MEC) finished the night with 51 kills.
Set one would belong to the Hilltoppers as they took it 25-12. However, GSC bounced back in the second set as they had 13 kills and won the set 25-20.
West Liberty then went on to take the next two sets, 25-11 and 25-13, as they defeated the Lady Pioneers, 3-1.
Glenville State finished with 30 kills on 136 attacks while committing 33 errors. The Lady Pioneers also had four service aces in the game and finished with four team blocks.
West Liberty tallied 51 kills on 131 attacks and finished with 19 errors. The Hilltoppers had five service aces and nine team blocks.
Freshman
Skylar Mace led GSC in kills with 10 while also having seven digs and a solo block.
Chase Cooksey tallied five kills while
Jezaray Clark-Casto and
Hannah McKown each recorded four kills each.
Madison Gargus had 22 assists while
Allison Parski had a game-high 18 digs.
West Liberty was led by Raimey Benson as she had a game-high 11 kills while Stephanie Leonard finished with 10 kills.
Glenville State (5-9, 1-5 MEC) will take on the Cardinal of Wheeling Jesuit tomorrow Saturday, October 6
th at 2 p.m.
