Lady Pioneer Volleyball Falls to Davis & Elkins

Edinboro, Pa. – The GSC Lady Pioneer volleyball team fell to the Senators of Davis & Elkins College in five sets on the road Friday evening (25-15, 25-14, 21-25, 10-25, and 15-10) in the Rebich Investments Invitational hosted on the campus of Edinboro University.

GSC (1-1) had 46 total kills in the game while committing 34 errors. Davis & Elkins (2-1) finished with 49 total kills and committed 24 errors.

Glenville State ended up dropping the first two sets of the game to the Senators. The Lady Pioneers dropped set one, 25-15, and then fell in set two, 25-14.

The Lady Pioneers then bounced back in the third and fourth sets as they tied it up at, 2-2. GSC took the third set by a final of, 25-21, as they tallied 16 kills on 38 attacks in the set. They dominated the fourth set winning it, 25-10.

In the fifth and final set, Davis & Elkins would tally eight kills while GSC had just five kills as the Lady Pioneers fell, 15-10.

​​​​​​​Skylar Mace continued her strong play, the true freshman led the game in kills with 15 on 43 attacks. She also finished with six digs and two solo blocks. Bailey Brawner finished the game with 12 kills while also leading the Lady Pioneers in digs with 16.

Chase Cooksey also had double-digit kills with 10 in the game.

Ai Miyazaki had four service aces while Madison Gargus and Allison Parski both tallied three service aces. Gargus led the team in assists with 37.

Davis & Elkins was led by Luann O'Kane with 12 kills while Raleighanne Weaver finished with 11 kills.

​​​​​​​Glenville State (1-1) will return to action tomorrow Saturday, September 1st when they take on Lock Haven at 10 a.m. and will then play Edinboro at 4 p.m.
