Glenville, W.Va. – The Glenville State Lady Pioneer volleyball team defeated the Concord University Mountain Lions, 3-1 (25-22, 25-19, 22-25, and 25-20) at home on Saturday. The win is the first conference win for the Lady Pioneers since 2013, the inaugural year of the MEC.
Glenville State (5-5, 1-1) tallied 58 total kills on 132 attacks while Concord (2-14, 0-2) finished with 44 kills on 128 attacks.
Glenville State started the match fast as they raced to a 25-22 win in the first set and 25-19 win in the second set.
Concord ended up taking the third set from GSC, 25-22.
In the fourth set, it would be close however the Lady Pioneers turned it on late as they claimed the five point win, 25-20. As they went on to claim the 3-1 victory over Concord.
GSC was led by Jazaray Clark-Casto. She had a game-high 18 kills while 
Chase Cooksey and 
Skylar Mace each chipped in with 13 kills. 
Bailey Brawner finished the day with 11 kills.
Ai Miyazaki had 24 digs while 
Allison Parski finished with 17 digs. 
Madison Gargus led the Lady Pioneers in assists with 54.  
Concord was led by Ellie Lawrence with nine kills while Brooke Heck chipped in with eight kills.
Glenville State (5-5, 1-1) will return to action on Tuesday, September 25
th when they host the Bobcats of West Virginia Wesleyan. Game time is set for 7 p.m. from the Waco Center.
