Glenville, W.Va. – The Lady Pioneers Volleyball team traveled to Philippi, W.Va. to take on the Battlers of Alderson Broaddus. In the match up, the Battlers swept the Lady Pioneers in three straight sets (25-15, 25-14, 25-16) setting back GSC to 2-10 on the season.
 
Set one consisted of a back to back fight before the Battlers took the lead after a tied set score of 10 all. Trying to stay in tact, AB would take a 10-point lead before winning the set 25-15.
 
In set two, AB had momentum to build off taking an early lead against GSC winning the set 25-16. Looking to answer back, the Lady Pioneers would comeback from an eight-point deficit before falling in the third set 25-16.
 
The Battlers out killed the Lady Pioneers 44-22, Skylar Mace lead the Blue and White with 11 in addition to having a service ace.
 
Instagram takeover's Jazaray Clark-Casto maintained three blocks, and an assist.
 
Sophia Shifferly had 15 assists on the night, while Madison Shepherd would dig out ten digs.
 
The Blue and White will be back in action hosting West Virginia Wesleyan College (4-9) Friday October 4^th at 7pm and Davis & Elkins (7-5) Saturday morning at 10am in the Waco Center.
