Glenville, W.Va. – The Lady Pioneers open their away series to a loss against the Bobcats of Frostburg State University. GSC fell in three straight sets (25-22), (25-17), (25-20).
In the first set, the Blue and White would fall early in the to later make a seven-point return including service aces by
Jezaray Clark-Casto and
Karlei Shaver. GSC could slowly inch back before falling in the set 25-22.
The Bobcats would continue to use their momentum and force an eight-point lead early in the set. The Lady Pioneer's defense could not hash out against FSU falling in the set 25-17.
In the third and final set, the Lady Pioneers would attempt to make a comeback fighting point by point until the Bobcats would take an 8-5 lead. FSU would continue their lead 13-10 before falling 25-20.
Skylar Mace, Clark-Casto and Shaver would lead the Blue and White in kills at 15,12 and 10 respectively.
Hannah Mckown and
Madison Shepherd would each dig out 12 and 6 digs.
Sophie Shifferly would assist in 37 assists on the day.
GSC will return to the pitch Monday evening against Salem University at 7pm. In the 2019 season, the Lady Pioneers have attained their only two wins against the Tigers.
