Glenville State Downed by Fairmont

Glenville, W.Va. – GSC Lady Pioneers fall to the Fighting Falcons of Fairmont State University in their continued away series in three straight sets (25-20), (25-19), (25-16). The Blue and White are set back at 3-19 on the year.
 
In set one of the match, FSU would begin by notching a service ace and six kills before the Blue and White would fight back for five points. The Fighting Falcons would rally back to continue their lead as they took the set (25-20). Madison Shepherd and Sophie Shifferly would notch a service ace each.
 
In the second set, the Lady Pioneers would have a team total of 16 kills with help from Skylar Mace, Jyra Clark-Casto, Karlei Shaver and Seana Stump. GSC would look to make a comeback playing point by point with FSU until the Falcons took the set 25-19.
 
In the third and final set, the Fighting Falcons would continue their momentum by taking a quick 9-3 lead. Shaver's kills would bring the Blue and White back into the set before FSU would scratch another nine points taking the set 25-16.
 
Mace and Shaver would each have ten kills apiece as well as shaver would notch nine digs in the match.
 
Freshman, Clark-Casto would add another six kills to the Lady Pioneers.
 
Shifferly, Clark-Casto, Seana Stump and Chase Cooksey would each have a block assist.
 
Hannah Mckown and Shepherd would both attain 11 digs.
 
The Blue and White will continue their road series at Davis and Elkins on Friday November 1st at 7pm and West Virginia Wesleyan, November 2nd at 1pm before retuning to the pitch November 8th.
