Glenville, W.Va. – In the mid week match, the Lady Pioneers faced off against the Mountain Lions of Concord University where Concord would take three straight close sets against the Blue and White (25-23), (25-18), (26-24), GSC falls 2-13 on the year.
 
In the first set, the Blue and White would maintain the lead 9-4 before Concord would make a comeback and tie the match ten all. Concord then took the lead as GSC falls behind with ball handling errors trailing 16-12. The Blue and White would fight back only to fall 25-23 in the first set. Karlei Shaver would lead the set with six kills and nine digs along with Lindsay Winkler recording nine digs.
 
Concord would quickly take the lead in the second set as GSC would try to play from behind 16-8. The Lady Pioneers would take a time out to regain control and attempt to make a come back against the Mountain Lions before falling short 25-18. Sophie Shifferly, Hannah Mckown, Madison Shepherd, Bailey Hanson and Lindsay Winkler would add a dig each in the seocnf set, along with Kenzie Johnson and Shaver with two and three respectively. Skylar Mace and Shaver would also add another six kills to the set each.
 
In the third set, the Blue and White would fight point by point before Concord would take the first two-point lead at 11-9. GSC would regain control close the gap 18-17 then tie the match 21 all before extending the the game point to 26-24. Shaver would add six kills and four digs. Bailey Hanson would also add seven digs in the set.
 
Shifferly and Winkler would have a service ace each.
 
Mace and Jazaray Clark-Casto would each have a solo block, along with Chase Cooksey, Shepherd who would add block assist each.
 
The Lady Pioneers will be back in action Friday October 11^th at 6pm against University Of Chareston. The Golden Eagles come into the match 5-13 on the year, the Blue and White have not won a match against UC yet.
