Glenville, W.Va. – Glenville State Athletics announced last spring the addition of Cheerleading coming back to campus. The cheerleading squad will make their debut on Saturday, September 21st when the Pioneer Football team hosts Concord University.

The cheer squad is led by Charli Varner, who is a former GSC Cheerleader as well.

Coach Varner joined the GSC staff after working 6 years in retail management, during which time she coached the Buckhannon Midget squad for the Mountaineer Youth Football League.

In 2009 her team took 1st place at the National Championships. She also cheered throughout high school for Lewis County High. Charli and her husband, KJ Varner, have 2 sons, Aidan and Jenson

This fall the cheerleading squad will have 12 new members who are very excited to get cheering.
