Glenville State Cheerleading Kicks Off 2025–26 Season with New Energy and Big Goals

GLENVILLE, W.Va. - The Glenville State University Cheerleading team is gearing up for an exciting 2025–26 season following a successful three-day Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) camp. The camp, which focused on game day rallying, gave the Pioneers an opportunity to sharpen their sideline skills, strengthen stunts, and refine their crowd-leading presence as they prepare to bring unmatched energy to campus this year.

The 2025–26 squad features 10 returning athletes and four new freshmen, blending veteran leadership with fresh talent. Head Coach Bridget Carr and Assistant Coach Megan Moats are confident the combination will create a strong foundation for a successful year both on the sidelines and in competition.

"Our athletes came into camp with focus and determination, and we're leaving with momentum," Coach Carr said. "This team has a special drive—not only to excel on the mat, but also to build a supportive team culture and represent Glenville State with pride."

The Pioneers have set ambitious goals for the year. In addition to building a strong team dynamic and achieving success this spring at The College Classic national competition, the squad is dedicated to elevating the game day atmosphere by engaging fans with new rallying traditions, signs, and interactive stunts. They plan to expand their community outreach with cheer clinics and appearances at local events to inspire young athletes, and continue their development of advanced skills, with a focus on higher-level stunts, tumbling, and choreography to showcase at home games and national competition.

With renewed energy from camp and a clear vision for the season ahead, the Glenville State Cheerleaders are ready to rally Pioneer Nation. Fans can look forward to spirited performances at athletic events throughout the year, as the team continues to raise the bar for cheerleading at Glenville State University.
