Glenville, W.Va. – The Glenville State Pioneer baseball squad came away with a big victory over No. 9 Mercyhurst University early on Saturday morning at the Sue Morris Sports Complex.

John Peloro would go 1-for-4 for the Pioneers with an RBI. Tre'von Smith would go 2-for-4 with an RBI as well.
On the mound, Jessie Weathers pitched seven innings, while Jose Rodriguez would pitch the remaining two. Weathers would allow five hits, with one run. Rodriguez would allow no hits.Â
How It Happened
Mercyhurst would score first in the 4th inning as Snyder singled up the middle, contributing to Barancha scoring for Mercyhurst Lakers.
However, in the 8th, John Peloro grounded out to second base earning an RBI, as Tyler Phillips would advance to second, and bring Devante Rose home to score for the Pioneers. The Pioneers would also add to their score as Tre'von Smith smacked a double to center field with and RBI as Tristan Coots would run home, bringing the Pioneers the 2-1 victory.Â
