GLENVILLE – Glenville State College's Lady Pioneers remained undefeated Wednesday night, defeating a strong Notre Dame squad 116-51.

Kim Stephens squad put six different players in double figures, led by
Mashayla Cecil with 17. In the balanced attack, she was followed by
Zakiyah Winfield with 16,
Re'Shawna Stone and
Dazha Congleton 15 each, Vendela Daniellsson 13, and
Taychaun Hubbard 12.
Glenville jumped out to an early 15-5 lead, sparked by a pair of early three-pointers from Cecil. Unfortunately, she found herself in early foul trouble, and would only play four minutes in the first half. GSC still maintained a 24-17 lead at the quarter break.
Aggressive defense proved pivotal in the second quarter, as the GSC offense was kick-started by their ball-hawking press. Stephens' crew put 33 points on the board in the second quarter, carrying a convincing 57-31 lead into halftime. The explosion continued as the Lady Pioneers put another 33-spot on the board in the third quarter, ballooning the lead to 50 points by the end of the stanza, 88-38. They cruised through the fourth quarter with the large advantage.
GSC shot 53.6% from the field (45-of-84), and 41.7% from beyond the arc (15-of-36). The GSC defense was strong forcing 24 NDC turnovers. They also held a decisive 57-30 advantage on the boards, led by
Abby Stoller with 12 and Congleton six.
Notre Dame was led by Lilee Carlson and Adana Ellis with 10 points each. Tamia Ridley pulled down a team-high eight rebounds.
Glenville improves to a perfect 6-0 on the season, and 2-0 in the Mountain East Conference. Notre Dame falls to 3-4 overall, and 2-1 in the MEC.
GSC returns to action on Saturday, traveling to Alderson-Broaddus. Tip-off is set for 2:00 at AB's Rex Pyles Arena.
