The Blue and White held a close match against the Yellow Jackets early in the set trailing just 9-7 with kills by Karlei Shaver, Sarah Grainger and Jyra Clark-Casto. However, the Pioneers could not hold on as WVSU then entered an 11-0 run to lead 20-7. Rachel LeRose then tallied the final kill in the set from Grainger falling 25-9.

Set Two:
West Virginia State came into the second set of night strong off their victory of the first. However, the Lady Pioneers would answer back with a 2-0 run to put them up 2-1. The two teams would give one another tight competition through the set, and it would come down to the very end. Both teams tied at 25, but a kill by Karlei Shaver would put the Lady Pioneers ahead by one, but WV State answered back. However, this did not stop the Blue and White. A kill by Hannah McKown from Sophie Shifferly would cause GSC to tie again at 27 with the Yellowjackets.  Unfortunately, WV State answered back with a 2-0 run, taking the set over GSC.

Set Three:

Using the same momentum in the second set Jenna Cogar quickly scored a service ace followed by a kill from Mace trailing just 6-5 in the third. The Yellow Jackets would then pull away 11-5 where Sarah Mazzaferro added two kills to trail 14-9. The Yellow Jackets then continued to accumulate to their score as they lead 21-10 while adding two ball handling errors to the Pioneer score. WVSU then took the third and final set 25-12.
