Glenville, W.Va. – After a historic victory over West Virginia Wesleyan College last week the Pioneers are set to rematch the University of Charleston and West Virginia State in the front half of the long weekend.

Pioneer, Golden Eagles & Yellow Jacket Files

Glenville State enters the weekend with a 4-15 overall after defeating the Bobcats in a 7-5 win. The Pioneers have historically conquered the Bobcats in three contests since the MEC instituted. At the plate, GSC hits .248 with 141 hits on the year and nine homeruns.

Sitting second in the South Division, UC enters the double match up with a 10-4 overall as they are led by Morgan Hope on the mound with a short 1.89 ERA and Ann-Judi Martin with 17 hits on the season. The Pioneers opened their conference season against the Golden Eagles and dropped both contests 6-3 and 9-4.

West Virginia State, the MEC South Division leader holds a 10-6 record after recently splitting with West Liberty University. Paige Scruggs leads the Yellow Jackets with 22 hits on the season as GSC dropped their last double headers giving up 21 runs.

Pioneer Highlights

Hitting leader for the Pioneers is Mackenzie Martinelli with 27 on the season holding a .435 batting average.

Kaylee Drake is GSC's homerun leader this season with three as Kaelynn Stenger follows with two.

Karra Smith leads with ten doubles on the year.
