Softball Travels to Concord, Alderson Broaddus, and Notre Dame this Weekend

Glenville, W.Va. – The GSC Softball (6-27, 3-19 MEC) team hits the road this weekend starting on Tuesday, April 20 when they travel to Concord University for a doubleheader with Mountain Lions at 3pm.

The Pioneers then travel to Alderson Broaddus on Saturday followed by another road trip this time to Notre Dame College.

Pioneer, Mountain Lions, Battlers, & Falcon Files

Glenville State (6-27, 3-19 MEC) is coming into the week after dropping four games over the weekend to Fairmont State and Frostburg State. GSC has 237 total hits with a106 RBI's as a team.

Concord (12-18, 10-12 MEC) is coming into the matchup after splitting two doubleheaders over the weekend with Frostburg State and Fairmont State. This is the second matchup between GSC and CU. The last time they faced each other was back on April 7 when they split at the Sue Morris Sports Complex.

Concord is led by Jenna Witt as she has 22 RBI's, four home runs (a team high), on 43 hits. She is also Concord's all-time hits leader. Sarah Thompson leads the Mountain Lions in RBI's with 23.

Alderson Broaddus (1-23, 0-20 MEC) is coming into the matchup after dropping two games to UC and their doubleheader with WVSU on Sunday was postponed.

Jordyn Kenneally leads the Battlers with a .357 batting average to go with seven RBI's, on 20 hits, and a homerun. Meadow Uncapher leads the team in homers with two.

And they finish up the journey on the road at Notre Dame College (12-18, 9-13 MEC) on Sunday. The Falcons dropped four games over the weekend to West Virginia State and the University of Charleston.

Lexi Rehm is hitting .376 with 13 RBI's, two home runs, on 35 hits, with 17 runs scored. Alexi Maciejowski and Mya Wright each have three home runs on the year.

Pioneer Highlights

Mackenzie Martinelli leads the Pioneers with a .402 batting average. She has three home runs, 24 RBI's, with 41 hits, and scored 17 runs. Karra Smith also has three home runs on the season with a team-high 27 RBI's.

Kylee Drake, Jessica Williams, and Katelyn Richardson all have three home runs each on the season.

Peyton Werntz leads the team with 35 strike outs and has pitched 77.1 innings. Kaylee Drake has totaled 22 strike outs in 56.1 innings pitched.
