Box Score 2 GLENVILLE – Glenville's softball team returned action Monday, suffering a doubleheader setback to West Virginia Wesleyan. The Bobcats captured Game One 9-4, and closed the night with a 2-0 win.
In Game One, the two teams were scoreless going into the third inning, but the Bobcats scored four runs in the third, and pulled away with two runs in the sixth and three more in the seventh. For Glenville, Haylee Stevens and Ashley Fridley each had a pair of RBI's.
Game Two was very tight, with Wesleyan scoring single runs in the fourth and seventh innings. It was a pitcher's duel between Glenville's Ashley Fridley and Wesleyan's Hannah Hudson. Fridley went the distance, allowing seven hits, two runs, striking out four while walking only two. Hudson only allowed three hits in recording the shutout.
Glenville falls to 5-13 overall, and 1-5 in the MEC. Wesleyan improves to 14-9-1 overall, and 4-2 in the league.
