GSU Softball Ends Season With a Loss Against West Liberty

Box Score West Liberty, WV – The Lady Pioneers will end their season with a loss at West Liberty and just miss the MEC Conference Tournament finishing fifth in the south division.

On the mound for the Pioneers, Ashley Fridley earned the loss pitching two and two-thirds with Madison Thimmes closing out the game for the Pioneers only walking one batter.
 
On the mound for West Liberty, Makenzie Amend picked up the win pitching the complete game not allowing a hit and accumulating ten strikeouts.
  
How It Happened
 
The Hilltoppers gained an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first from a throwing error and a double to left center driving in a run.
 
In the bottom of the third West Liberty's lead increased by seven more runs to make it a 9-0 game. The Pioneers where not able to answer West Liberty's speed and bats.
West Liberty three times in the third inning drove in singles that brought in 2 RBI's.

Coming Up
 
With the Pioneers missing the MEC Conference Tournament coach Scoone's second season comes to an end. Glenville finished the year with a 17-27 record and 13-18 in the league picking up six more wins than last year.
