Bridgeport, W.Va. - The Lady Pioneers defeated the Salem Tigers 3-0 in Monday night's non-conference match. Coach Kevin John's program has now won three straight matches for the first time since 2018.

Glenville would create separation from Salem early in the set taking a 6-2 lead from kills by Sydney Goodrich and Julia King. The Tigers would answer the Lady Pioneers by winning the next two points. Glenville took advantage of the six errors Salem committed during the set. Katarzyna Niderla's three kills at the end of the frame would propel the Lady Pioneers to take the set 25-18.

In the second set, both teams would go back and forth tying the frame 3-3. Glenville was able to carry the momentum from the first stanza and pull away early. Junior Defensive Specialist Zoe Schmidt's kill sparked a dominant stretch for Glenville. The Lady Pioneers won 11 of the set's next 12 points giving them a 14-4 lead over the Tigers. They would ride the hot start to win the set 25-14.

Salem gained an early advantage over the Pioneers in the third set giving them a 4-2 lead. The Lady Pioneers combated the early run by the Tigers giving Glenville a one-point edge 5-4. Salem continued to test the Pioneers until halfway through the set when finally, the Lady Pioneers would break away. Once again for Glenville, the Pioneers would take advantage of four consecutive Salem errors winning the set and match 25-21.

Katarzyna Niderla led the team and match with 11 kills finishing with a .500 hitting percentage. Sydney Goodrich produced seven kills, three aces, and 7 digs for the Lady Pioneers. Once again, Defensive Specialist Lindsay Winkler would lead the team and match with 14 digs. Bella Baragona would register her first set played and kill as a Pioneer.
