Youngstown, Ohio- Coach Dan Meyers and his Glenville State Track teams traveled to Youngstown, Ohio over the weekend, competing in the prestigious Youngstown State Mid-Major Invitational. The Pioneer squads took a major step forward in terms of individuals staking claims on the MEC Performance List, as 13 different personal bests were posted by GSU athletes.
 
China Jefferson led the women' squad, posting a season best of 25.97 in the 200. On the men's side, Ian Beller finished eighth in the large shot put field, posting one of the top throws in school history at 15.17. Teammate Brandon Bowie placed 16^th in the event with a toss of 13.68. Bruce Williams was also eighth in a large field, racing to a strong 7.01 time in the 60. The Jarrell Twins, Blake and Bryce, both ran strong times of 2:01 in the 800. Freshman Marlon Moore registered a personal best of 1.81 in the high jump.
 
Glenville is back in action next week, traveling to Ashland for another opportunity to post some strong marks in a prestigious facility. Events begin next Friday and at noon, and will extend into Saturday.
