SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The Glenville State Women's Soccer team fell on the road earlier today at Notre Dame College 3-0. The Falcons outshot the Pioneers 17-13 after GSU was able to get 11 shots off in the 1st Half.
Glenville State fired off the first shot of the game just two and a half minutes in as Hannah Hill's shot was saved by NDC's Jordan Pasalaqua. At the 27th minute, Merel Smets had a chance to put the Pioneers on the board but her penalty kick rolled just too far left, keeping the game at zero. The Falcons used a penalty kick opportunity to their advantage at the 42nd minute as Miriam Szijarto found the back of the net to make it 1-0 at half.
A free kick 16 minutes into the 2nd Half by Sophia Motolese extended the Falcons lead to 2-0 as she was able to get it over the keeper's outstretched arms. Another penalty kick opportunity proved to be helpful for Notre Dame at the 74th minute, making it 3-0 with a goal in the bottom right of the net.
The Final Stats
Merel Smets had four shots and Hannah Hill fired off three shots with two of them being a shot on goal. Abigail Morales totaled two saves as the starter and Mikayla Brown came in relief, grabbing three saves.
Sophia Motolese, Louisa Follert and Miriam Szijarto all found the back of the net for the Falcons. Jordan Pasalaqua recorded seven saves in the victory.
