Pioneers Defeated by Notre Dame College in South Euclid

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The Glenville State Women's Volleyball team were defeated tonight at Notre Dame College 3-1 in a Mountain East Conference matchup. The Falcons were able to control the attack all night long, producing 57 kills compared to Glenville's 35. 

An exciting first set went to the Pioneers 28-26 after the Pioneers fell down 4-0 early on. GSU went down 24-21 late but were able to knot the game up at 24 and eventually win the set on a service error by the Falcons and a block by Katarzyna Niderla and Helin Halden.  

From there on, Notre Dame was able to command the remainder of the game. Winning the second set 25-17 and the third set 25-10. The final set had the same score as the second set at 25-17, giving NDC the 3-1 win over the Pioneers. 

The Final Stats 
Katarzyna Niderla and Malerie Ross both had eight kills to lead the team. Sydney Goodrich added seven. Sarah Grainger produced 27 assists and 10 digs in the loss. 

Sydney Bray went off, finishing with 25 kills and also having eight digs. Samantha Comer added 13 kills while Kelsie Palmer had nine. Jayme Zoeckler recorded 44 assists on the night and 14 digs. Comer also had a strong night defensively with 16 digs. 

Up Next For The Pioneers 
The Pioneers are back in action on Saturday as they have an early contest with Salem at 11 a.m. on the road.
