GLENVILLE, W.Va. - The Glenville State Women's Soccer team fell to West Virginia State 1-0 tonight at Morris Stadium. The Pioneers outshot the Yellow Jackets 13-4 but couldn't find the back of the net. 

The 1st Half was mostly controlled by the Pioneers, keeping it in attacking range and not allowing WVSU to really get any type of goal opportunities. However, the Yellow Jackets were able to draw a penalty kick opportunity at the 37th minute, capitalizing on an Alba Closa goal.  

In the 2nd Half, West Virginia State played a game of keep away, maintaining possession and not giving GSU many offensive possessions. Later in the half, Glenville was able to have a pair of shots near the goal but would miss wide and high. WV State used to their advantage, holding onto the 1-0 lead to take the win back to Institute. 

The Final Stats 
Merel Smets fired five shots off tonight with two of them being on goal. Tessa Cinotti and Graylin Floyd also recorded a shot on goal each. Mikayla Brown got the start, making two saves. 

Three different Yellow Jackets had a shot on goal tonight, led by Alba Closa's penalty kick goal. Laura Galindo finished with five saves at the net.
