GLENVILLE, W.Va. - The Glenville State Volleyball team fell to the West Liberty Hilltoppers 3-1 tonight inside the Waco Center. WLU took sets one, two and four while the Pioneers were able to capture the third set.
The first set was dominated by the Hilltoppers, jumping out to a 16-7 lead after being down 7-6. They carried that momentum to finish out the set 25-13.
Glenville State found themselves in the second set much longer, however the strong Hilltopper attack proved to be too much as West Liberty took the set 25-18.
The Pioneers found the groove on offense in the third set, cruising to a 25-12 set win.
In the fourth set, the Hilltoppers regained their control from the first two sets, closing out the night with a 25-14 set win and 3-1 match victory.
The Final Stats
Rita Kelly finished with 10 kills and Katarzyna Niderla had nine. Kelly and Niderla also combined for seven blocks. Sarah Grainger finished with double-digit numbers in assists (29) and digs (10). Lindsay Winkler led all Pioneers in digs with 24.
Two Hilltoppers had 10 or more kills, led by Leah Driscoll's 12. Dakoda Keni added to her already impressive season total in assists tonight, recording 34. Nyia Setla was all over the place, finishing the match with 19 digs to lead the team.
