GLENVILLE, W.Va. - The Glenville State Volleyball team dropped another home match earlier today to Wheeling 3-0 inside the Waco Center. The Cardinals controlled the attack game, recording 41 kills to the Pioneers 22.
After the Pioneers made it 9-8, Wheeling closed out the first set on a 16-5 run to win the first set 25-13. The Pioneers fell behind early on in the second set but found themselves back in it. However, WU used another run late to pull away and take the second set 25-17. The third set was once again commanded by the Cardinals, taking the final set 25-13 and winning the match 3-0.
The Final Stats
Rita Kelly and Katarzyna Niderla combined for 12 kills in the loss. Sarah Grainger had 16 assists and Niderla also added six blocks.
Tylah Yeomans was the only Cardinal with double-digit kills with 10. Mady Winters and Katie Wilking added nine kills each. Karly Niesen finished with 32 kills and nine digs.
