Natalie Barr Takes Home All-MEC Second Team as Pioneers Complete MEC Championships

WHEELING, W.Va. - The Glenville State Cross Country teams ran at the Mountain East Conference Cross Country Championships today, placing a runner on the All-MEC Second Team. 

Bryan Utt led the Pioneer men, placing 48th with a time of 29:59. Isaac Slater made a three-minute improvement from last year's MEC Championships, finishing right behind Utt at 49th with a time of 30:04. Daniel Kargol (31:58), Devan Lawson (32:58), Elijah Armes (33:16), Adam Davis (34:38) and Wade Lawson (39:24) rounded out the rest of the Pioneers. 

On the women's side, Natalie Barr finished in 11th place (second-highest finish by a freshman in the race) and is the highest finish for a Glenville woman since joining the Mountain East Conference. Barr is the first cross country All-Conference female since 1991.

Samantha Dawson finished 47th at 24:36, two minutes faster than she did at last year's race. Savannah Cunningham also set a two-plus minute PR in this race, placing 50th with a time of 29:03. Graylin Floyd (29:27), Hannah Hill (30:04), Summer McShane-Cale (31:16) and Sara Lowe (35:32) closed out the day for the Pioneers
