Four Pioneers Earn All-Conference as Pioneers Have Historic Day at 2025 MEC XC Championship

WHEELING, W.Va. – The Glenville State Cross Country teams had yet another historical day at the Mountain East Conference Championship yesterday (Oct. 25), as the women placed 4th and the men placed 7th. This was the highest finish for the women's team since 1993 and their highest placement since joining the MEC.

ALL-CONFERENCE
Natalie Barr placed 3rd to take home All-MEC First Team. This is her second First Team honor and third overall All-Conference selection.

Jenna Barnett placed 5th to get All-MEC First Team.

Nick Pitchford placed 10th and received All-MEC First Team.

Patrick Reilly was 13th for the second-straight year and took home All-MEC Second Team.

HOW THE PIONEERS FINISHED
The Women
Barr's 3rd place finish came with her time of 22:51. Barnett's stellar 5th place finish as a sophomore was with a time of 23:17, also leaving her as the second woman in school history to get All-MEC First Team. Not far behind were Katie Hicks (24:48, 25th) and Abby Dixon (25:09, 33rd). Morgan Ruggles (25:37, 41st) and Laura Cain 26:00, 48th) were also top 50 finishers for the women. Ella Austin (27:05, 61st) was the seventh runner for the women to cross the line. The race was closed out by Bethany Payne (28:24, 74th) and Raegan Sisk (28:40, 75th) for the women's teams highest team finish since 1993 at No. 4.

The Men
Pitchford's 10th-place finish with a time of 26:46 was the highest placement the Pioneer men have seen in school history. Reilly crossed at 26:55 in 13th place. Jackson Mallet (28:35, 40th) and Luke Barr (28:58, 48th) were also top 50 finishers for the Pioneers. Runners five through seven for Glenville were not far behind though with Landon Griffith (29:10, 51st), Lance Busse (29:18, 52nd), and Caden Davis (29:23, 54th) helping close out the race with a 7th place team finish for the Pioneers.

Up Next For The Pioneers
The Pioneers will compete in the NCAA DII Atlantic Regional Championship Saturday, November 8, at Lock Haven.
