GLENVILLE, W.Va. - Glenville State Athletics has announced Merel Smets and Benjamin Fernandez as Pioneers of the Week for the week of Sept. 25-Oct. 1. 

Smets had an outstanding performance on Sunday at Salem, completing the hat trick with three goals en route to the Pioneers 7-0 victory. 

Fernandez won the individual title at the West Liberty Invitational by shooting 214 (68-69-77) over the 54-hole tournament. His score was three strokes lower than the runner-up of the invitational.
