GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State athletes
Natalie Barr and
Nick Pitchford are the GoMart Pioneers of the Week after their performances at the MEC Cross Country Championship, the GSU Athletic Department announced.
Barr, a junior out of Canvas, W.Va., is now a three-time All-Conference performer and has been All-MEC First Team for back-to-back seasons after placing 3
rd with a time of 22:51 on the 6k course. Barr's third-place finish helped boost the Pioneer women to their highest placement (No. 4) since 1993 when GSU was a member of the WVIAC.
Pitchford, a sophomore out of Eleanor, W.Va., became the highest male finisher in program history at #10 with a time of 26:46 in the 8k race. Pitchford took home All-MEC First Team and paced the Pioneers to a 7
th place finish as a team.
