YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Glenville State Indoor Track & Field teams started the season with 19 new personal bests today at the Youngstown State Icebreaker at the Watson and Tressel Training Site, highlighted by Natalie Barr breaking a school record.
NEW SCHOOL RECORD
Natalie Barr broke the school record by 32 seconds in the 3000m run, crossing at 10:49 and taking 3rd place.
NEW PERSONAL BESTS
The Women
Isabela Torres set new PR's in both the 60m dash (8.43) and 200m dash (28.29).
Jayden Cover had a new personal best in the 60m dash with a time of 8.69.
Bella Skeens finished the 200m dash at 29.33, recording a new PR.
Samantha Dawson finished with a new personal record and moved into 4th all-time in the 3000m run with a time of 12:27.
Kimberly Halsey pole vaulted 3.00m, setting a new PR and landing herself 3rd all-time in the event.
Janae Scott placed 15th in the shot put with a distance of 11.96m (PR), throwing herself up to 4th all-time. In the weight throw, Scott threw a new PR of 11.79m.
Macy Hilvers set new personal record in shot put as well, finishing 32nd with a throw of 10.24m.
The Men
Aaron Kupfner was setting new PRs all around, running a 7.3 in the 60m dash, 23.22 in the 200m dash and 8.62 in the 60m hurdles. Kupfner also moved into 6th all-time in the 60m hurdles.
DJ English had multiple personal bests set, closing the 200m dash at 23.34 and the 400m dash at 51.93.
Marc Fernandez-Soler finished the 400m dash with a time of 53.99, setting a new PR.
Isaac Slater wrapped up the 3000m run with a new personal best time of 10:00.
Daniel Kargol finished right behind Slater in the 3000m run, running a new PR as well with a time of 10:11.
Elijah Armes was the third and final runner in the 3000m run to set a new personal best, crossing the line at 11:16.
John Bowen pole vaulted 3.75m, tying for 13th and marking a new PR.
Charlie Bauman was one of three throwers to set a new PR in the shot put with a throw of 13.85m.
Michael Clay (12.85m) and Jeremy Taylor (11.39m) were the others to set new PRs in the shot put.
Owen Bell was the final Pioneer to set a new personal best with a throw of 11.93 in the weight throw.
