GLENVILLE, W.Va. - Glenville State Men's Basketball carries their three-game winning streak into the new week with matchups against Fairmont State at home tomorrow (Dec. 6) and Frostburg State on the road on Saturday (Dec. 9). The Pioneers split with the Bobcats and beat the Falcons in two of the three matchups last season.

THE OPPONENTS
FAIRMONT STATE
The Falcons come in (4-3, 1-3 MEC) and are losers of their last three. In those losses, FSU has lost by just an average of seven points.
Tim Koenig is in his fifth season leading the Fairmont State MBB program. Last season, Koenig led the Falcons to their fifth-straight NCAA Tournament appearance after going 24-8, which was the most wins since the 2016-17 team that was a national runner-up. Koenig was the 2019 MEC Coach of the Year and came to Fairmont State after spending six seasons as HC at Notre Dame College.
David Jolinder is averaging 15.9 PPG to lead the team and is second on the squad in rebounding at 6.9 RPG. Winthrop transfer Cameron Whiteside has been a solid addition for the Falcons as the graduate student is averaging 13.3 PPG, 5.4 RPG and 2.9 APG. Zyon Dobbs leads the team in assists at 4.6 APG while adding 12.9 PPG.
FROSTBURG STATE
The Bobcats are (1-8, 1-3 MEC) coming into the new week after falling to Charleston and West Virginia State previously.
Zack Thomsen is in his first season as Head Coach of the Bobcats. Thomsen came to Frostburg State after spending the last seven seasons as HC at the State University of New York at Delhi. In those seven seasons, Thomsen amassed 123 victories and helped lead SUNY Delhi to a successful transition from NAIA to NCAA Division III with an NCAA Tournament bid last season. He has MEC ties as he was an assistant at Shepherd during their time in the MEC.
JayShaun Freeman leads the Bobcats in scoring at 12.0 PPG, followed by Robby Williams (11.5 PPG) and Logan Lewis (11.4 PPG). Koby Baptiste is the top rebounder on the team, grabbing 6.5 RPG. Lewis (5.0 RPG) and Freeman (4.6 RPG) have also been reliable on the boards.
THE PIONEERS
GLENVILLE STATE
The Pioneers enter (4-3, 2-1 MEC) and have won their last three games, lastly defeating Notre Dame College and Salem last week.
Jordan Turbo Smith (14.8 PPG) and Dominiq Penn (14.0 PPG) are the top scorers for the Pioneers while Smith is also averaging 4.3 RPG and 4.3 APG. Devin Collins is averaging 12.7 PPG and Jay Scott is adding 10.9 PPG to aid the offensive attack. Jaelin Johnson is pulling down a team leading 6.0 RPG while averaging 9.0 PPG.
