BUCKHANNON, W.Va – Glenville's Track teams opened their 2023 outdoor season on Friday, competing at the Brandi Bowen and Jasmine Claggett. Several Pioneer athletes posted solid opening performances in what was a classic overcast late winter day in Buckhannon.
 
Glenville's Women posted several victories; Hannah Hill in the 400, Koschinya Jefferson in the 100 (12.36), Angela Ejimofor in the 200 (26.03), Tessa Boyd in the Hammer (39.49), and Bridget Knapp in the high jump (1.52). Runner-up finishes were garnered by Ejimofor in the 100-hurdles (15.83), and Janel Mitchell in the 400-hurdles (68.86).
 
Winners on the Men's side included Blake Jarrell in the steeple (10:00), Isaiah Valentine in the 200 (22.40), Brandon Bowie in the Shot Put (13.49), and Christian Hanna in the Hammer (44.45). Runner-up finishes included Valentine in the 100 (10.96), and Charlie Bauman in the Shot (12.87).
 
Glenville's teams are back in action in next week, traveling to the 49er Invitational in Charlotte.
