HUNTINGTON, W.Vs. – Coach Dan Meyers' Glenville State Cross Country teams raced to several personal best marks on Friday at the Marshall University Thundering Herd Invitational. The meet was held at the Kennedy YMCA Center, and each team placed sixth overall in the event.
Freshman Natalie Barr led the charge, posting a program 5K cross country record. She placed ninth in a 72-runner field in a time of 18:48. The entire scoring five posted PR's on the women's side as Samantha Dawson (20:53), Savannah Cunningham (21:57), Summer McShane-Cale (22:47) and Hannah Hill (23:57) all tallied strong races. Barr's race broke the existing 35-year old record that was set by Pioneer great Katrina Riggleman during the program's championship season of 1988.
Senior B.J. Utt was the top men's finisher, covering the 8K layout in a time of 27:25. He was followed in the scoring column by teammates Trey Stanley (28:39), Devan Lawson (30:04), Isaac Slater (30:10), and Daniel Kargol (30:28).

Meyers' squad returns to action next week, traveling to Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. That race will be on Saturday the 23rd, on LHU's historic West Branch Course.
