ATHENS, W.Va. - The Glenville State Women's Soccer team lost on the road this afternoon at Concord 6-0. The Pioneers were held to just two shots all game while the Mountain Lions got 29 off.
1st Half
Merel Smets fired one of the Pioneers two total shots at the nine-minute mark but missed top right. Concord got on the board first with a goal by Kylene Franklin at the 13th minute. It stayed 1-0 for 20 minutes until CU scored two goals within a minute (33rd and 34th minute) to make it 3-0. With under a minute remaining, the Mountain Lions extended their lead on a Sydney Tucker goal.
2nd Half
Concord continued to be aggressive in the 2nd Half, scoring two more goals at the 70-minute mark and 72nd minute, ending the game with a 6-0 victory over the Pioneers.
The Final Stats
Merel Smets had one shot and Hannah Hill had a shot on goal. Mikayla Brown finished with four saves and Allyson Arthur had two in the loss.
Five different Mountain Lions scored today, led by Sydney Tucker's two goals and one assist. Sarah Pattilllo only had to make one save.
