GLENVILLE, W.Va. - Glenville State Men's Golfer
Benjamin Fernandez has been named MEC Men's Golfer of the Week presented by The Health Plan, the league announced today. This is the second time Fernandez has taken home the weekly honor.
Fernandez, a freshman from Paraguay, won the individual title at the West Liberty Invitational earlier this week by shooting a 214 over the 54-hole tournament. He began play with a 68 during the opening round on Monday, before coming back in the afternoon to shoot a 69. During Tuesday's final round he carded a 77. His score of 214 was three stokes lower than the runner-up at the event.
Fernandez and the rest of the Pioneers head to Avalon Lakes for the MEC Fall Championships on Monday.
