FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The Glenville State Women's Soccer team lost to Fairmont State, 1-0, earlier today on the road. The Pioneers fall to (4-5-2, 2-5-2 MEC).
1st Half
In the first half, Fairmont put the pressure on the Pioneers. The Pioneers were out shot by six in the half, while a goal from Fairmont State's Filippa Stalhammar at the 38-minute mark gave the Falcons the lead going into the break.
2nd Half
In the second half, Glenville came out trying to tie the game back up. They had plenty of opportunities with seven shots and three shots on goal but couldn't quite find the back of the net due to Fairmont's goalie getting three saves in the half. The Falcons were able to play keep away, securing the 1-0 win over GSU.

Filippa Stalhammar had Fairmont's only goal of the game. Lauren Dye and Arrington Sparks led the Falcons with the most shots at three apiece. Lauren Dye also had the most shots on goal with two for the Falcons. Olivia Johnston managed to get five saves in the win.
Glenville State
Marcelle Stoller led Glenville State with the most shots and shots on goal in today's game with three and two, followed by Sophia Calkins with two shots and one shot on goal. With her best efforts, Lucia Lopez managed to pick up three saves for the Pioneers.
